Troubleshooting rusty door hinges is the first step you should take in deciding what to do with a tight squeaking door.
Hinge in door is rusted.
Surface rust will make the hinge look bad but it should still work.
First determine if the hinge is still serviceable.
On older homes or ones with older hardware rust can show up in the strangest places including door hinges.
Wd40 is one of my favorite products and a staple in my workshop but i always use dry graphite or spray silicone lubricant on hinges.

To fix a sagging door you can either replace the whole hinge or just the pin and bushings.
Be sure to mask of the places you don t want it.
Unprotected cabinet hinges in kitchens and bathrooms can rust over time.

Rinse the hinges off with water then dry them really well with a towel and you re ready to reinstall.
